THE AMAZING CHESS

3-way chess is a chessboard on which three people can play. The same rules apply except for some slight variation on moves made through the center of the board. Apparently this particular game was bought in the Czech Republic. And you know what else you can buy in the Czech Republic don't you? Absinthe. Yeah, I tried making my own once but drinking it made me go blind in one eye for a couple days. Just like the time I pleasured myself for fourteen hours straight.

THE AMAIZNG PILLOW

he Glo Pillow is a foam pillow with alarm clock innards. 40 minutes before your desired wake time it slowly begins lighting its integrated LEDs to gently bring you back to reality. Apparently it's a much more natural way to rise in the morning that a traditional alarm.

THE AMAZING MACHINE

The Boxcooler is a refrigerator in a backpack by designer Sebastian Bertram. It has room for both food and dishes and "thermoelectric Peltier elements replace the traditional “freezer batteries” which defrost after a while. Therefore, the food inside stays fresh and cool for a longer time. They are supplied by a storage cell which can be reloaded inside the car or at home." Sweet, this Sebastian character might be on to something

THE AMAZING TOY

This cute little wind-up robot dances better than I do and costs about $10.50. You just wind him up and away he goes, breaking it down with moves that make me jealous. How could he not brighten up your mood? I think it's just the thing I need to add some flair to my cubicle and make me laugh while the boss is busy pissing all over me. Which, until recently, he used to only do figuratively.

THE AMAZING CREATURE

Apparently a gnome is terrorizing the town of General Guemes in Argentina. Although from the report he didn't actually do anything but try to cross the street (video after the jump!). I mean it's not like he's sucking the blood of your goats like the Chupacabra does. He's just trying to get his gnome on. Leave the poor bastard alone. He's probably just wandering the countryside looking for a nice garden to accentuate.

THE AMAZING BOLL

A 1,500 pound wrecking ball broke loose and ran out of control down a hill for nearly a mile before plowing into things and ending up in the trunk of a student's car.
“The cable just snapped,” Meadville police officer Brian Joseph said. “It just so happened that it snapped at a point and time when the ball was outside the wall.”
The out of control ball hit parked cars and even bounced off the curb, before it rolled into the trunk of a student's car, ramming it into cars in front of it.
Could've been a lot worse. The wrecking ball could've been, say, a locomotive! I don't even know what I'm saying anymore.

THE AMAZING WATCH

Designer Philippe Starck put together the Veiled Watch which hides the face behind a specially electroplated crystal to mimic the breaks in the bracelet. The design creates the effect that the watch is just a continuous metal band. You can the watch for $150 off Fossil which they describe as:
The crystal is specially electroplated to mimic the breaks in the bracelet, and the sides of the case continue the effect with carefully etched details for design continuity. The crown is a case-back pusher to continue the uncluttered elegance of this style. The shiny stainless steel bracelet is designed to remain thin and comfortable wtih hidden links.
It's a neat concept, but if people can't tell you're wearing a watch they'll think you're wearing a bracelet. A giant silver bracelet. Which is cool for chicks, but should I also invest in some high heels and a skirt?

THE AMAZING LIGHT

The Light Drop is supposed to make people think about how we are dealing with our natural resources , in this particular case, the water, which is the main source of energy for every living organism in this fantastic world. Water is energy indeed.
It's not currently in production and I don't completely understand the designer's explanation, but at least it looks neat.

THE AMAZING CAKE

These guys put together a cake based on the original Optimus Prime Transformers toy. Unfortunately they built it in truck form, so it looks more like a truck than a Transformer. But hey, I mean, a truck cake. That's still pretty cool.

THE AMAZING BED

Looks like somebody finally invented the world's most comfortable bed. Because why roll around when you can lie there perfectly still.

THA AMAZING FLUSH

If I've told you once, I've told you a thousand times -- just pee in the freaking shower like a normal person. Well for those of you out there that want to go green but don't want to pee on your foot, there's the WashUP washing machine/toilet combo. Basically after a load of clothes are washed the machine saves the water to later flush the toilet. As an added bonus if you happen to run out of toilet paper you can just grab one of your roommates shirts out of the thing. Awesome design. Now I can die happy knowing I've seen what a washing machine would look like riding piggy back on a shitter.

THE AMAZING CAR

The Microjoule competition car is the lovechild of a caterpillar and a jellybean. And maybe a go-cart that was originally just filming but ended up getting in on the action. The amazingly green vehicle can "make the journey between New York and Los Angeles over three times on just one gallon of gas." !!! It has won Shell's Eco-Marathon every time since the car's original inception in 1992. "Amazingly the Microjoule doesn't have any fancy tricks -- it's just an aerodynamic, lightweight one-seater that runs off gasoline, but runs for a long time." Man, there has got to be some trick. Like a hamster wheel or a sorcerer or something. Something. Cars just can't go nearly 9,000 on a single gallon of gas. So I'm just going to go ahead and set the record straight right here: Magic. That's right folks, The Gathering.
William Livingstone House
Constructed in 1893 in the once elegant Brush Park neighborhood, this home, designed by architect Albert Kahn, was moved from its original location several years ago by preservationists who hoped to maintain it. It was demolished last year.

Amazing Examples of Macro Photography

Macro photography, simply put, is close-up photography. This usually requires a special lens that is optimized to focus sharply on a small area. What I love about macro photography is that it allows us see an entirely different world that is filled with an abundance of detail that usually goes unnoticed by the naked eye.
